“The Ninth Floor,” the debut album of Bodysnatchers, is anything but boring.
The album is permeated with echoes of eighties retro with a dark electronic twist. The vocals are reminiscent of the “surf” style of music, moving consistently while still remaining smooth and easy to listen to.
The beats of Ninth Floor are versatile – many of the tracks are songs you might hear played in a club and can actually dance to, but it also makes for good listening material. It's the kind of music you might pop into your MP3 player for a workout at the gym, or plug into your media player when writing a term paper. The themes in Ninth Floor are consistent without being repetitive – the style and transitions are smooth and expertly executed.
Best described as electro-rock, the album was created with the old silent films in mind, and is inspired by “black and white films and fairy tales.”
Bodysnatcher hails from Paris, France, and features Tom on vocals, Franky on guitars, Pit on drums, and David on bass and progs (who also is their lyricist). The band is presently engaged in playing various clubs throughout their hometown, and with their clean electro explosion onto the music scene, it is expected that their name will only continue to grow throughout Europe. “The Ninth Floor” is available for purchase online at Discogs and Indietective.
