The Exploration Pages - Temple of Madness EP
The Exploration Pages are being created to further illuminate the concepts used in Ocean Born Muse's works. In the Pages, you'll find a description of the ideology of each song, as well as one of its verses.
The Temple of Madness EP was written as an exploratory work of music, examining myth and psychological drives to create a highly varied body of music.
Heaven (Reprise)
The song "Heaven", which first appeared on Vindication, was re-explored as an exploration of heaven on earth, and a drive to pursue happiness in whatever medium may present itself.
Look into me and see that I am what you seek
for ever dream, ever dream that you could find heaven in me
An instrumental track, "Pusher" was written as a throwback to Divine Technology.
Temple of Madness
The title track was written to express a world driven mad by technology as well as an influx and overflow of the populace.
Gears of brazen steel turn within my mind
broken glass that my brain rolls over...
Torch
Torch is a love song, dedicated to love once had and lost, but fondly remembered.
I carry a torch for you, my love
the fire so bittersweet
all to clear it shows the shadows
crawling at my feet
Unbidden (Kanta's Song)
Unbidden is a song of love found and unexpected, of soothing kindness washing away bitterness and despair.
Destruction feeds delerium
the wind comes swift at three
you have come unbidden here, but lover shall you be
The Faery Bird
Inspired by Holly Black's "Tithe" series, "The Faery Bird" was written about the myths of the fey, what knowledge, light or dark, they might offer humans (for a price), and the missteps of the human race among feykind.
Trip trap, trip trap on my lady's bridge
go where no tree should grow, where no fruit should live
trip trap, trip trap, faling hard on stone
no physic can save you now, your hollow brittle bones
