Bella Morte – Beautiful Death

Review
by Muse en Lystrala

“Beautiful Death,” Bella Morte's latest album, proves beyond all doubt the band's musical and lyrical skills.

A fusion of multiple genres of music, the album incorporates the gothic rock elements with the synth and symphonic elements heard in their early works, such as “Remains” and “Where Shadows Lie.” This cleaving of the various genres that Bella Morte composes was due to a desire to return to the orchestral and classical content that was so vividly present in some of their earlier material.

Philosophical and emotional content overlay the content of the music; time is an especially heavy theme in this album, with such song titles as “Eternal,” “One Thousand Days,” and “Nine Hours,” among others.

Released in early October of 2008, “Beautiful Death” held the number one spot for Metropolis releases two weeks in a row, attesting to the band's musical talent, development, and amazing unique sound. Bella Morte consistently connects with their audience, both during live performances and afterwards making themselves available to chat with fans of their music. Their drive and connection to the world of their fans makes them incredibly engaging and down-to-earth. The band consists of vocalist Andy Deane, keyboardist Micah Consylman, guitarist Tony Lechmanski, bassist Tony Pugh, and drummer Scotty Derrico.

Bella Morte has seen a number of members join and leave the band since their formation in 1997, but the group has still maintained a unique style and continued to evolve as both individual musicians and as a group, demonstrating not only talent but professionalism, good communication and determination.

“Beautiful Death” is a must-have for any gothic rock fan's library, and its symphonic content is cleanly spliced into the rock style Bella Morte has evolved into. Says Andy Deane, “With this album, we were all on the same page.”

The album can be purchased through their website, http://www.bellamorte.com, on iTunes, or in various music stores.
